A rimless frame can look simple because the lens is the main visual structure. The project is not simple. At Shanghai Chihao Optics Co., Ltd., we treat lens shape, hole position, connector geometry, screw or mounting system, bridge alignment, temple opening, and final adjustment as connected decisions.
Before we quote or sample a rimless project, we prefer to separate five decisions.
1. Define the lens geometry
Confirm the lens outline, dimensions, thickness range, edge treatment, hole locations, and permitted visual tolerances. A reference image is not a production specification. Use a drawing, approved sample, or both.
2. Match the mounting system
Record the bridge, end-piece, screw, bushing, and temple components that belong to the approved construction. Similar-looking hardware can behave differently during assembly or later adjustment.
3. Assign each process
Write down who is responsible for edging, drilling, component preparation, assembly, adjustment, final inspection, packing, and after-sales diagnosis. If a process is coordinated through another supplier, name the hand-off and the acceptance point.
4. Approve a complete sample
Do not approve the frame hardware in isolation if the order includes finished assembly. Check the actual lens shape, visual balance, opening and closing, alignment on a flat reference, screw condition, and the agreed fitting points.
5. Keep an inspection record
The inspection checklist should match the approved sample and drawing. It should not rely on a broad statement such as “looks good.” Record the agreed checkpoints and how exceptions will be handled.
