An eyewear quote is only comparable when the underlying project is clear. Before discussing a final price, we try to identify the decisions that will change the product, process, lead time, evidence, or responsibility.
The request for quotation
A practical RFQ should include the target market, product category, drawing or reference sample, dimensions, material by component, colour and finish, logo method, packaging, target quantity, testing requirement, inspection method, delivery term, and requested schedule.
If one of these points is undecided, mark it as undecided. A visible gap is easier to manage than an assumption hidden inside a quotation.
OEM and ODM in this context
For an OEM project, the buyer normally brings the design or a defined product specification. For an ODM project, product development input may be broader. The commercial label does not replace a responsibility matrix. The parties should still identify who approves the drawing, selects materials, owns tooling, controls changes, accepts the sample, and authorizes mass production.
Process ownership and coordination
Shanghai Chihao Optics Co., Ltd. describes its Danyang activity using two categories: work performed by the current operation and work coordinated through the supply chain. We do not use “all processes in-house” as a default claim. For each project, the relevant process path, hand-off, inspection point, and final order responsibility should be written into the transaction documents.
The sample is a control point
Sample approval should record more than appearance. It should identify the model, revision, dimensions, materials, colours, components, logo, function, packing, exceptions, approval date, and approver. Any change after approval needs a traceable decision.
Evidence should match the claim
A business licence proves an entity record, not production capacity. A test report proves the listed sample and test items, not every product. A photograph proves what is visible, not the ownership or repeatability of an unseen process. We keep these boundaries explicit because they make an OEM project easier to audit.
